Evaluation of Electromagnetic Field Levels and Student Exposure at Aydın Adnan Menderes University Central Campus

With the effect of developing technology, humanity is constantly exposed to more electromagnetic fields. Regional studies are gaining importance for determining possible problems. In this study, extremely low-frequency field (ELF-EMF) measurements were carried out in Aydın Adnan Menderes University Central Campus areas where university students frequently found, at 25 randomly selected points, region high voltage lines pass and around transformers, evaluate awareness about ELF-EMF they to. For purpose, necessary magnetic electric strength made a questionnaire was applied determine level students. Results evaluated by comparing them with ICNIRP limit values. Accordingly, it has been concluded that can be accepted as relatively safe area since exposure values within addition, result questionnaire, determined young people conscious certain extent ELF-EMF, but did not pay attention protect themselves against effects ELF-EMF. It important make initiatives order raise on issue.
